Highland Park FFA Potter County Stock Show Results

16 Highland Park FFA students participated in the Potter County Junior Livestock Show on January 22, 2010. Students presented their animals to a judge for a placing high enough to make the sale. Local community members made donations to the students that were in the sale. Student’s can use the money towards animal projects, college funds, or maintenance of the project. All of the students worked hard to do well at the show. The results are as follows:

Highland Park Ag. Mechanics

The Ag. Mechanics has been working on building a trailer and is on its final stage of completion.
The following students have been working on this project: David Whitaker, Lance Mullens, Trenton Morgan, Aden Willson, and Kaide Lester. These students are going to participate in the San Antonio Stock Show and present their trailer to a panel of judges.


UPDATE: The students received a blue ribbon in the trailer category. Receiving this ribbon put them in contention for the top 5 placing in their category.

San Antonio Stock Show!
Highland Park had an amazing turnout this year at the San Antonio Stock Show. Sydney Harris was first place in her class and was Grand Champion heavy weight division and finally was Grand Champion of the dark cross breed. Garrett Kroeger placed 6th with his cross red hog.

Calf Scramble!

Brittany Lake, Cody Roller, Jerod McDonald, & JohnB Kinzer participated in the calf scramble.
The students will receive a certificate for $800 to purchase a female animal of any species. The students are required to keep records, take photos through out the project and send monthly updates about their projects to their sponsors. The students will take their animals back to the San Antonio Stock Show next year to exhibit them in their respective shows.
